   Miss Fudge's Cushion

Hellooo. I am the fabulous Miss Fudge Boland-Allen.  I live with the Allens, although I once lived with the Boland family - hence my deliciously decadent double-barrelled name!  (Very elegant, don't you agree?!)  Not that one could tell by looking at me, but I am 15 years old!  However I still retain my kittenish charm and playfulness.  DM fell in love with me at first sight - and why not!  He had just lost his beloved older sister, Matilda, and was very sad.  To cheer him up, I used to visit him most afternoons and together we had great fun racing around the garden playing tig, climbing the fences, bird-watching and sun-bathing on the patio.  It got more and more difficult to say goodnight, and so eventually I just decided to stay with him.  A good Methodist cat, he didn't exactly approve of this arrangement and huffed with me for a while, but soon he came to like having me around full time and accepted that I was not going to steal his 'Daddy' and 'Mummy', simply share them.  We have made our home together and are very happy.

With permission, I was formally adopted by Ann and David in 2006, and now officially live with them (and DM) on a permanent basis.  Ann is at home with us all day, and I just love being able to snuggle up on her knee and have a cuddle whenever I wish.  I do sometimes go and visit my sister, Archie Boland, but as they call me "the lodger" now, I don't usually stay very long.

I am a very sociable puss and, Daddy says, a typical female, coz when I'm not sleeping or eating, I just love to talk!  Sometimes Daddy and DM get fed up with all my chatter, but Mummy understands and talks back to me.  She knows how much I enjoy conversation and how I love to be noticed.

As I suffer from feline colitis from time to time, I have to be careful what I eat.  However, as DM and I both prefer smooth gourmet pate to lumpy foods, this diet suits everyone - and it certainly helps me to keep my kittenish figure in trim!

I have my very own collar and magnetic door key nowadays and DM and I enjoy being able to come and go through our private entrance.  I also have my own bathroom ensuite which, when it's raining, is especially nice as I don't have to go outdoors to the toilet anymore.  DM still prefers to go out - though why he likes getting his paws muddy is beyond me!

I am a very contented puss, knowing I am both safe and loved.  It's a great feeling, and when I lie in Mummy's arms and gaze up at her purring, I know she knows how much I love and trust her.

Here's DM and me, out in the garden.
